Snow Mobile!

My sister, Emily, the kids' "Auntie Em" and Carl visited this last weekend. Actually, they were in Montana to pick up Carl's new purchase, a snowmobile, and thought since they were in the area, they might as well come see us. Naturally, we ended up trying out Carl's new baby for a little test drive...

Carl getting ready to take Bree out for the first time. She was pretty excited about it too.

But, she spent a lot of time doing this since she thought the motor was loud. (It was.) And yes, she's wearing a helmet. I didn't want to take any chances with my baby's noggin - there aren't seat belts on those things.

Going for a ride with Auntie Em.

I even got in on the action and let Carl take me and Bree down the road a bit. It was so fast! This particular snowmobile was actually built for racing so the engine doesn't even engage until 6000 rpms, and you go from a standstill to breakneck speed in the blink of an eye.

Yep, it was pretty fun and Bree seemed to like it, although, this is the way she rode the whole time, head tucked down and hanging on for dear life. Can't say I blame her, it's a combo of feeling elated and terrified all at once.

We'll have to see if she turns into an adrenaline junky, but I fear sledding may not seem quite as exciting to her anymore. :)
